CHARLES PETER LATTIG
    Charles P. "Pete" Lattig, a resident of Bend for 13 years, died Saturday evening from an apparent heart attack.  He was 41.  (died January 18, 1986)  A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday Tabor's dessert Hills Mortuary, with Pastor Harry Brendle of the Heritage Baptist Church officiating.  A concluding service will be held at Pilot Butte Cemetery.
    Mr. Lattig was born July 4, 1944, in Payette, Idaho, the son of Bayard and Florence (Steigerwalt) Lattig.  He graduated from Payette High School in 1962 and attended the University of Idaho, where he was a  member of the delta Sigma Phi fraternity.  He also attended Boise State.  For many years, Mr. Lattig was an active stock car racer at the Meridian Race Way in Meridian, Idaho.
    On Aug. 10, 1972, he married Judy Goff in Denver, Colo.  After moving to Bend from Denver in 1973, Mr. Lattig worked as a computer systems analyst and owned and operated Bend Data Center for more than 10 years.  He lived at 665 NE 12th St.  Mr. Lattig was a longtime member and past president of the Bend Jaycees and was presented with a senatorship with Jaycees International in 1980.  He was also a member of the Bend Chamber of Commerce and the Aeronautics Association.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Bayard Lattig, in 1951.  Survivors include his wife, Judy, Bend; two sons, Kelly, Corvallis, and Justin, Bend; his mother, Florence Bigelow, Mountain Home, Idaho; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Steigerwalt, Payette, Idaho.  He also leaves a sister, Nedra Lynne Downs, San Antonio, Texas; a stepsister, Marsi Hale, Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepbrother Bruce Bigelow, Anchorage, Alaska; two aunts, Helen Conrad, Castleford, Idaho; and Dorothy Cahill, Weiser, Idaho, and several nieces and nephews.  Tabor's Dessert Hills Mortuary is in charge of accommodations.

    Judy Lattig-Root:  "Pete was a kind, loving husband and father.  He loved fishing, camping and playing with his remote control airplanes in his spare time, and always loved sharing these experiences with his family.  He was the founder and successful owner of Bend Data Center until his sudden death on January 18, 1986.  He will always be remembered with love."

It was nice that Pete's wife Judy sent me his obituary and photos for our 45th reunion booklet.
