Evelyn Joyce Morgan Tyler Johnston

Evelyn Joyce Morgan was born October 28, 1942 in Payette, Idaho to Ralph Sidney & Permelia Jane (Kellogg) Morgan. Joyce attended Eastside Grade School in Payette & went on through Payette Junior High & High School, graduating in 1962. Joyce enjoyed school and she participated in Home Economics, FHA, Choir & Library Club during high school. She listed as her school memories: The great '61 Prom & Honors at Green and Gold Ball. She chose Missionary work for her Future in the 1962 AXE yearbook.

Evelyn Joyce Morgan married Chester Ancel Tyler on January 27, 1964 at the Payette LDS Chapel. Chester brought four of his own children: Janet, John, Jeff & Deanna, into the marriage for Joyce to help raise, though three of them died rather young. Joyce gave birth to two children, a daughter, Laura and a son, Tim. The family and children were always Joyce's priority.

Sadly, in Joyce's first marriage, there was a house fire that took all their personal items. Joyce & Chester divorced and she moved around a lot. Joyce later married a Mr. Johnston, but that marriage didn't survive either. Eventually Joyce's health issues got the best of her, and she moved around the Treasure Valley. That made it hard for her sister Vera to find her, but they did connect a couple of times. Joyce did the best she could with the various situations in her life.
Joyce's daughter married in the Snake River Valley, had three children, divorced and moved to Texas. Sadly she died at just 26 years of age, before her mother passed. Joyce's son is a Nampa businessman and he has a son. He is a wonderful father and Joyce would have been so proud of him.

Joyce's sister Vera wrote: One thing I did learn this summer - thanks to you and this effort - is that I had to rethink my own relationship with Joyce.  She was 6 years older & tried to be bossy to me so ours was a fussy situation.  However, seeing her 7th grade picture & the prom photos just made me realize she was just a teen who wanted friends, to like and be liked by others.  She wanted to help others and liked to help at our LDS youth nights, with setting up the refreshment tables, etc.  My personal memories of her were more of the one of being mom with all the kids around her, then older and sicker.  Seeing her as a young teen took my breath away.  She looked so young and beautiful in 7th grade. I thank you for giving that new perspective on her.
