Norman Leroy Scott
(Mike Coblentz shared Norm's obituary with us.)
"Norman L. Scott died June 28, 2001 at age 57. Mr. Scott was born October 22, 1943, in Payette, Idaho. He earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Oregon University and a master's degree in economics from Portland State University. He worked for the Clackamas County Department of Transportation and Development for 23 years, retiring in 1999 as Director of Policy and Project Development."
Norman Scott first married Patricia Remsen, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Norman Remsen of Ontario, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Portland, on September 11, 1971, but this marriage didn't last very long. Mike Coblentz was Norm's best man. At that time Norman was enrolled in the masters program in economics at Portland State University.
Norm married Mary Richardson in 1982. He took early retirement in 1999 to spend time with his wife, who was suffering with breast cancer. Unfortunately Norman died June 28, 2001, just before our 39th PHS reunion. Mary Richardson Scott died in 2002.
Norman Scott was the first born of his parents' children. Norman's father preceded him in passing, but his mother survived him. Norman had no children of his own, but he enjoyed his many nieces & nephews. Four younger sisters survived Norman: Betty Flarity, Gerri Bishop, Fern White & Shirley Cullip. (~glas)
