Linda Davis, beloved mother, sister, friend, and tireless advocate for children, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Linda spent her early years there before moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and later making her home in South Florida. Everywhere she went, she radiated a rare combination of strength and tenderness. Her selflessness was extraordinary — she had a gift for recognizing who needed her care and stepping in without hesitation.
As the eldest sister to Blaise and Heather, Linda became a loving second mother from the time they were infants. Even as a child herself, she took it upon herself to ensure their safety and well-being. That fierce, nurturing spirit never faded. When her cousin Charlene came to live with the family after losing both of her parents, Linda mothered her as well — perhaps the beginning of her lifelong calling to care for those in need. Years later, alongside raising her two cherished children, Michael and Kimberly, she welcomed a remarkable number of young people who needed guidance and stability. Over the years she became a “chosen mother” to many — offering not only a safe place but a sense of belonging. She was overwhelmingly grateful when one of her chosen children made her a grandmother and great-grandmother, a role she cherished deeply.
More than 25 years ago, Linda founded her own business providing supervised visitation, creating a safe and compassionate environment for children and parents during difficult times. She later brought her expertise to f.a.c.e.s., where she continued this vital work. Even in her final days she remained committed to her calling, working faithfully because children and families depended on her.
Those who knew her will remember her warmth; her beautiful singing voice, which she used to soothe the fears of the children she cared for; her love of animals; her steady wisdom; and the way she made every person and creature feel valued and safe.
Linda is survived by her brother Blaise, her sister Heather, her children Michael and Kimberly, and the vast family she created through love — the countless children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she welcomed into her heart and treated as her own.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Linda’s memory to ChildNet, continuing her lifelong mission of caring for children and families.
