Nearly 20 years ago Carol and I merged families – she had three kids and I had two, so now we have five, plus two angelic little grandkids. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our kids in Texas and Los Angeles. With so many offspring we’re both still working, but are enjoying life in Dallas and in ten more years just might fully retire.
I lead Strategic4sight, a small Strategic Marketing and Communications consulting firm that serves nonprofits. I've been teaching nonprofit marketing as an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas and at the Center for Nonprofit Management. I also serve as a Senior Partner with M&A Partners, meeting the needs of middle-market and large firms planning acquisitions and mergers.
After a math major at DePauw University and graduate business school at Carnegie Mellon University, I had a 36-year career with ExxonMobil. This included leading global business marketing and corporate communications functions, as well as the fun of living in Europe for five years.
Following retirement from ExxonMobil, I served as senior vice president of brand strategy and communications for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Since college I’ve served on a variety of local, national and international nonprofit boards of directors and am now primarily focused on assisting nonprofits.

My favorite line written in the front of my yearbook had to do with homeroom. Memba homeroom? For some reason we had officers, the president did little and the vice president did nothing. Somebody wrote in my yearbook -- "to the best homeroom vice president we could have ever had!"
