In Memory

Jon Albitz (Former Teacher)

Jon Paul Albitz, 81, of The Villages, FL passed away peacefully at home on August 2,
2020.  Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, Jon was the son of the late William Elkin and Madelyn
Albitz.

Jon is survived by his wife Donna; sister Suzanne Smith of GA and 3 children, Paul
Albitz and wife, Carolina of FL; Mark Albitz of CA; Julie Smirga and husband, Pete of
TN and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers William and Donald.
Everyone who knew Jon would agree he had a strong love for people and a zest for
life.  He had a long fulfilling career in education in both Pennsylvania and Florida.  Jon
was an active Villager who loved to golf, be with friends and travel. Few were surprised
that when with Jon, he would run into someone who knew him due to the dedication,
support and love he gave to his students and athletes.

Due to health and safety concerns no public service will be held at this time.  Jon's
family is grateful for all of the support and care given during his illness.
Jon had fond connections all his adult life with Slippery Rock University and in lieu of
flowers those wishing to give to Jon's alma mater can do so
