Comments:

Life has gone by quickly since 1961--and I wish I could remember all the details in between then and now. Those 18 short years in Petersburg were good foundation years--and after college at OSU, we grew up the kids, remained in the greater Seattle area, and stayed in the fishing industry. Now, we're not retired--but we're spoiled and enjoying life--and still together after 45 years!

School Story:

There are many things that have stuck with me from our school years in Petersburg---especially Miss Evans' typing and filing techniques; Mr Birkland's music discipline; 7th grade Home Ec lessons from Miss K, and all the opportunities and support we had from the whole community. The funniest thing I remember is having to take off our pants at our lockers in the morning--the ones we wore under our skirts to keep our legs warm on the way to school. Remember, we couldn't wear pants or slacks in school!

Favorite Petersburg story:

I LOVED the 4th of July--but always worried about the possibility of rain and mud on our parade! The 4th was always the day we got to eat lunch downtown at the Pastime or Winnie's --and that was the BIG TREAT of the day and of the year.

Travels?

It probably sounds corny--but I'm always on a journey! I love to take photographs and generally don't leave home without my camera--even on a simple walk around the block! Alf and I have enjoyed Caribbean cruises,a Mediteranean and northern Europe cruise, vacations to Hawaii, trips to Norway (our favorite), Hong Kong and Singapore, and enjoy driving trips here and there in the U.S. Yellowstone was on our "bucket list" and we checked it off our list this last fall. Our favorite times are spent with our daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren on vacations!
