Robby (Rock) and Neil lived in my apartment building (Stevenson Terrace). They were about 3 years older than me but I remember them both well - both really nice guys. Neil introduced me to one of the great albums of all time - King Crimsons - Court of the Crimson King. They live a floor below.
As I remember, Robbie seemed to have a bit of a tough guy persona but I could always sense a kind although troubled soul underneath. I remember him as being an amazing pool player often 'running the table' leaving me with maybe a single opportunity per game to miss a shot. The apartment building had a pool table in the recreation room where we sometimes shot together. I remember feeling honored when he'd let me play with him - he being so good and a few years my senior. I must have been about 13 or 14. He was very animated when he played and with very colorful language and explicatives - often times punctuated by uncontrollable stuttering. I really liked him. I am saddened to hear of his passing. Can anyone tell me what became of him and how he passed ?
