Larry lived at 149 65th Ave. His parents were Dorothy and Shimmy. He had a brother Gary.

Without doubt, Larry was the best looking guy to ever come from 2 & C. He probably got into more trouble than anyone else too. Platinum blond hair and blue eyes. He was adopted.

When we were 13, girls 16+ used to drive in to be with him while his parents were out. They did stuff you do when your parents are out.

For a couple of years we were inseparable. From joining him to babysit for his brother Gary on Sat. nights, hitchhiking to the Northeast, cutting school, we were always together. He went to Northeast High and a Junior High in Northeast. He didn't want to go to Olney He was a bad influence on me. We had great times together.

Larry lived Fast and hard. He did more in his 23 years than most people could have done in their whole lives. One funny thing that we still talk about in the family was the picture of him, in Newsweek Magazine. He had a full page picture in an article called "Young Americans Abroad". He was in Morocco in a hotel room smoking a hookah. The best part was his quote "We are stoned most of the time". Of course Rabbi Kassen was the one who told my parents about the magazine article.

Larry spent some time in a prison in Afghanistan for exporting hash back to his friends. He also beat Nixon into China by entering through the Khyber Pass, of course he got in trouble for that one too.

He also had two of the shortest marriages in history.

We had some amazing times together. He was a good big brother and I still miss him.

No matter who you talk to from 2nd & C, Larry's name is always brought up. Always by the girls. He was a very nice looking boy, but also a nice person. I remember that he use to go to Pauline and Eddie's and stop over to eat his cherry vanilla ice cream cone. I once babysat for Gary, (you had the chicken pox) and thought I was soooo cool being in Larry's house.
I'm glad to hear that his family is doing well.
Larry is someone that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

I lived at 155 w 65th ave. Larry was at 149. I have so many memories of Larry. We went to Summerdale Day Camp together.
He was always great to be around, but had a real devilish streak and could always find a way to get in trouble. But you had to love him. I remember the Newsweek picture well, and actually was not surprised to that it was him.
I was however shocked by his untimely death and know how badly Shimmy and Dorothy were affected by it.

Larry was certainly a great looking guy, but he also had a good heart. Unfortunately, he went astray and as a result we lost him. But we'll never forget him. Larry's parents and my parents were best of friends and his loss hit us all very hard. I'm sure that Larry is keeping them hoping up above.
