Andy was a great person. We hung out at each others houses. I remember he had a very sweet sister, Lori. His Mom was very young and drove a black Corvair (I remember because my family drove a Corvair, also). Andy also played guitar. I remember when he put on "Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent and played along with it. It sounded pretty good. I also remember in 5th grade with Mrs. Kravitz ... every Friday we had "Showtime" where each group of kids would do something entertaining. One Friday we did Showtime and Andy's group decided to do "Monday Night Football". Andy was the announcer and he did a great Howard Cosell. They did some plays and basically it was a big buildup to the big play where the quarterback handed the football to Paul Phillips and Paul was supposed to run in slow motion all the way to the end zone for a touchdown and Andy was supposed to say "look at that SOB run". That was the punch line that we were all waiting for. BUT, he was supposed to either say "bleep" or something other than what Andy did ... which was to say "Look at that SON OF A BITCH run!!!". The entire class was in total shock. Paul was still running in slow motion, we were all laughing and felt embarrassed, and Andy was BRIGHT red!!! Mrs. Kravitz was also bright red and was not at all amused. Showtime was over for that day.

There are photos of Andy on my profile. He was half Jewish and did not have a Bar Mitzvah, but I think he enjoyed attending mine. He appears in the Bar Mitzvah shot with all of the guys and in another photo, which was me cutting the cake and Andy is in the background. I look horrible and Andy looked too far away, so I zoomed in on him. That photo is a good representation of Andy's memorable smile.

Andy was a real character. He laughed a lot and had a great sense of humor. I am shocked that he is no longer with us. I was hoping that he would sign up for this web site and I could reconnect with him. Maybe in the next world. You will not be forgotten, Andy.

I was saddened to hear of Andy's death. I recall Andy and I formed some sort of a "club" in 4th grade. I don't remember what the club's purpose was, but I recall that lifetime dues were 50 cents.

He was a fun kid to pal around with. I remember walking home from school with him in the afternoon up Claremont Road and him talking about his father, the cop.

I too, was hoping to catch up with him at the reunion.

I lived across from Andy and his family growing up.

Andy was a great guy, Took me to my first concert (Van Halen - Black Sabbath). Attempted to teach me how to play the guitar.

He was a good guy and a good friend.

He always was, and will always be "chasing rainbows"
