Hello
Posted Monday, May 11, 2009 11:47 AM

I read the posts under "Message Forum" and posted two of my own which apparently didn't get thru. I hope this does.
I followed the thread about Joe, our Creighton bus driver. Does anyone remember that he used to park on Ruscombe St. during lunchtime? I remember that he worked on a scale model of a building made entirely of popsicle sticks glued together! He brought it onto the bus to show us. Can anyone confirm this memory?
I think our 6th grade teacher was Mrs. Wrigling. The day Kennedy was shot, I came home on the bus to find all the mothers standing outside talking to each other and weeping. The atmosphere was pretty hushed and somber for weeks and everyone put pictures of JFK in their windows.
Do we all remember sitting along the hallway walls for civil defense drills? Connie

I remember sitting in the Gym against the wall during the drills.

connie,

yes, i remember sitting around the halls in school. i also remember sometimes in the evening, around dinner time, we would have air aide drills. the siren would go off and we were supposed to close our (black out shades) and go in the basement until the siren sounded again. as i recall we wre so used to it , we didn't do it to often.
