Here's a song from the 60's by The Association. It was a little controversial. It was said, back in the day, the woman named in this video, Mary, actually stood for Marijuana. You know, THC. Otherwise known as Tetrahydracannibinol #9. Just one of the metabolites, albeit the largest of the 5 metabolites, that make up marijuana, otherwise known as Cannabis. The Association took alot of heat over this song. That's probably why all their songs put out after this one are lame. I'll play one of their lame songs next and you'll see why they should have quit after this one.
See what I mean? This shit is as lame as it gets!!! I think it's because they let the Oriental guy sing. Clearly, he couldn't see the sheet music. He's smiling, but it looks like his eyes are shut. I wonder if he's Vietnamese? Weren't we at war when this song came out. Someone may have "broken ranks" and infiltrated the American music industry...right under our noses!!!
Let's end this night, or morning playlist with a little 5th Dimension. I believe this song is entitled "Stone Soul Picnic", not "Stoned..." like this title depicts.
Vin: You are right...that song from Reunion, LIFE IS A ROCK, was actually the first song written that could be considered a RAP song. And believe it or not, I still know all the words!!!! I'll sing some for you when we get together. I'm sure you'll all be just waiting for that. GREAT MUSIC!!! MG
