I REMEMBER IN 5TH GRADE THAT MARY GRACE, CARRIE & I USED TO TELL SISTER VENARD THAT THE PRINCIPAL WANTED US TO GO TO THE OFFICE TO HELP HER. WE WOULD DELIVER MAIL OR WHATEVER & ONCE MRS ABALDO CORNERED US & ASKED WHAT WE WERE UP TO & WE THOUGHT WE WERE IN BIG TROUBLE, BUT SHE JUST LAUGHED & SMILED AT US BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T KNOW WE REALLY WERE UP TO NO GOOD!!
My favorite teacher of all time. If it was not for her, I would have dropped out in 6th grade. I saw her a few years ago( 2005 maybe) in Filamina's restaurant in Deptford NJ. It was like old times, we hugged and talked about the old days at St. Richards. She told me WE were the best class she ever had and loved us all like her own kids.
