Bennett S. Ben Hoser, 48, of Lehigh Township, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at home surrounded by his loving family. Ben was the husband of Christine A. (Matzo) Hoser with whom he celebrated 22 years of marriage on July 11. Born in Phillipsburg on May 3, 1961, he was a son of Kenneth Hoser of Stewartsville, N.J. and the late Joan (Gaylord) Hoser, who died in 1992. Ben was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and the Warren County Vo Tech, class of 1979, after which he honorably served in the Army for three years and later in the National Guard. He also served as a volunteer fire fighter in Stewartsville, N.J. Ben was a retired senior corrections officer for the New Jersey state department of corrections, Annandale. Ben was a good looking, quick-witted, honest, loyal and humorous guy. He was a wonderful and respected father. As a husband, Ben was a best friend, passionate lover, true soul mate and a hardworking man. Ben had a true passion for the sport of wrestling, the N.Y. Giants, Harleys, tractors and muscle cars. He was an expert skier and frequented farmers auctions. There is a peace that Alpha men cant explain, on a journey to New York to take the train; they were your family and friends that help our hearts mend, our love for you will never end. Survivors: In addition to his father, Kenneth, and his loving wife, Christine, Ben is survived by his daughter, Crystal, and his son, Brandon, both at home; two brothers, Will Hoser and his wife, Claire, in Vermont and Russ Hoser and his wife, Kim, in Ohio; sister, Tina Benjegerdes and her husband, Karl, in Iowa; father-in-law, Eugene Matzo Sr. of Northampton; mother-in-law, Elaine Petskus and her husband, Ron, of Northampton; 10 nieces, two nephews. Services: memorial celebration of life with military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009 in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, Village of Moorestown-Bath, 18014. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private.
