OK.....who's coming to the Beer Summit tomorrow afternoon?  All I know for sure is Frank, Bill Rihs and I will be there.

Good Beer Summit last night.  Thank you Frank for putting these together.  We had Frank, Bill Rihs Les and me.  I think they are very important at this stage of our lives.  BTW, for those who do not know, Frank drives in from Colorado to take care of family business and attend The Beer Summit with us.

I missed the last Summit when Les came on board.  He was there last night and he is welcome to The Fellowship of the Beer Summit.

We had some noisy people around us, so it was a little hard to hear sometimes....but maybe that was aggravated by our combined loss of hearingsmiley.

I don't think there will be another one until September (subject to change).  I hope to see more familiar faces then.

Until then, Vaya Con Dios my friends and...

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

One of the subjects we failed to talk about last evening was China.  Google :The Longyou Caves.  It was interesting to me because I learned about why the Chinese were such great tunnelers.

I heard from Paul Sparks today.  He called out of the blue and we just chatted back and forth for awhile and it was really good to hear from him.  Very nice guy.  He said he might try to make a Beer Summit one of these days.  I hope he does.

Yet another problem in the news today with transgender athletes (boys) competing in girls sports in Kalifornia.

Every human being was assigned....by GOD.... certain chromosomes at birth.  It's not hard folks.  Here they are.  Please see below.

The only choices we have are:  XX = Girl    XY = Boy.  End of discussion.  Class dismissed.

Why the Governor of Kalifornia can't get that straight is beyond me.  With that in mind, I hope I do NOT live to see him elected President.  I cannot imagine.....

Jim, as I have posted before, if your mind tells you you were born in the wrong body, the problem is in your mind, not your body.

05/20/26 06:35 PM #16044

Mary Powers (Evans)

Jim and DeWitt, I know this is not the point of your posts, but just to be accurate, there are more than XX and XY.  See Variations - The Association for X and Y Chromosome Variations

05/21/26 09:05 AM #16045

Patty Meyers (Anderson)

Mary, what are the percentages of those variations?

05/21/26 09:21 AM #16046

David Rainwater

As usual, Mary is correct.  In addition to chromosomal abnormalities, there are mutations that affect types of hormones produced or the body's response to hormones that also violate a simple binary view of sex and gender.  These are very difficult issues for parents and the affected individual to deal with.  I've seen an estimate of these intersex individuals at about 1.7% of the population, approximately the same proportion as those who are born with red hair.

There they are!  I'm so gratified to see the rise of Democrats on this site once again.  I could be wrong, but the implication was that sometimes boys CAN compete against girls.

OH!  And BTW....I am particularly happy to see the Klinefelter Syndrome mentioned as I was beginning to believe it was being overlookedsmiley.  Thank you so much!

It appears that I have ruffled the feathers of Mary and Dr. Rainwater once again by stating the obvious.  We The People don't make policy based on an extreme anomoly when it comes to apportioning membership on male and female athletic teams.  If we did, we would surely have to limit membership on the girls teams in Kalifornia to the progeny of Democrats only and keep those pesky Republicans outenlightened.  It's a very simple thing....boys v. boys and girls v. girls.

AMERICA FIRST!

Nancy Scott, et. al.  To update on the new left Prostheses, the doctor said day before yesterday, that he is looking to Stabilize the Measurements of my lower left leg before fitting me with a new Prostheses because he is going to put one of the new Feet on it to make it more user friendly. Having worn the standard foot before, it had very little if any flex in it at all, so going up or down and incline was a sometimes slippery proposition. But I was looking through Facebook one afternoon, and happened across the picture of a man who had just climbed Mount Everest wearing a Prostheses on both legs. Now that is determination I would call it, so I best not get to discouraged with the intricacies of using one. The Doctor also told me that he has a Patient who has been wearing a Prostheses on his lower left leg, like me, and this man performs Tricks with Horses, that involve Horse Dancing which is popular in Mexico. The Doctor says the Man makes his own Prostheses and because hisd Stub is only 3 inches from knee to bottom, he makes it work using a Leather strap to keep it in place. The man is a Trick Rider with horses, and earns his living with his horses, including what is called Horse Dancing. It us very interesting when your randomly dealing with a problem you have, and then you find out other people have dealt with that problem and more, and are Sailing right along under Full Sail and they are Captaining their very own Three Master at Full Sail on a Rolling Ocean and your still navigating the Harbor.

I sincerely do want to make it to one or more of your Beer Summits, as it would be a real pleasure to see all of you in person. I have made two attempts but for one reason or another, have not made it there. One attempt I had a Flat Rear Tire, out by Bukeye and would up finding a place to get all 4 LT Tires on my HummerH3 for 800 which was a Steal or maybe I should say a Bargain.  The other failed attempt. We ran out of Gas, got to The Vig, but missed you by about an hour. One of these days I will make it there. God help you all if I do !!! LoL

Hi Mike, It was Great seeing you in California a while back.  It was interesting that you mentioned seeing other people that have even more challenges than we do.  Please know that we appreciate your humor and intelligence in spite of your challenges.  You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure all the rest of our Classmates!!  Thank you!!

When we were growing up and even into our 20's +- we never hardly heard about shootings in Our Country!!  Obviously we don't have to watch or listen to the news but now it is truly 24/7/365.  For what it's worth-----when you see something on the news that effects you emotionally---don't watch it over and over.  The Media will say this might might not be suitable to watch and then repeat it numerous times.  I remember a person in my Rotary Club in Sun Lakes talking about the Tsunami that hit Japan.  He, after watching it on replays (time after time) that he was loudly telling the people on his TV screen to run.  And, just in case you might be curious about this Rotarian, that person was very intelligent.  Thanks!

Nancy, Thanks for your attempt to lead the conversation away from the political, so I will make just one more post on the issue of X and Y chromosomes before I crawl back into my silence on this forum.

There are only two types of chromosomes in the body. X and Y. We need to have two chromosomes: XX for females and XY for males. That is not in dispute. When Mary referred to 'variations', I believe she is actually referring to abnormalities or degeneration of one or more chromosomes. This can lead to confusion in the brain as to your gender. I have two examples in my family. One, the male, does not cross-dress and hasn't changed his name, nor has his partner. They enjoy being together in a romantic sense. The female is totally transgender. SHE dresses like a man and has changed HER name to fit her needs.

I present this post as MY OPINION as posted at the top of this page and do not expect others to agree.

Bye for now.

Must suggest of the "Beer Summit Staff" a date in Sept's meeting that a Van is hired (rented) for 8 to 10 persons. A halfway point is determined and a journey is planned to make Mike's convergence possible. My vote is to stay on the AZ side, even if it means Brown-BAGS behind the Circle K.We are 3hours away, in traffic from CA stateline.

Nice thought....or was that a joke?  Either way....no way for me.  I don't even like driving from way North Scottsdale during rush hour to The Vig as it is.

Maybe we can FedEx Mike from CA to The Vig????  Are you up for that Lefty?

I appreciate the Thought about making it easier for myself to get to the next Vig. Hopefully by then I can Drive myself over in the Hummer and al least hobble my way in somewhat akin to  "GrandPappy Amos" the Head of the Clan if you Remember the TV Show "The McCoys"  I actually enjoyed his singing that Song  "That Mule, Old Rivers, and Me" which he sang. I don't think Waylon Jennings ever tried to copy is rendition.

There is a Report of a case that has come down from the United States Supreme Court about a Sweeping Change in Second Amendment Law, and the Court deciding that the States have backslid into giving the Second Amendment a Lesser Considertion as compared to some of the other Amendments. The Decision is supposedly a 9 to 0 Case. It affects the ability to have a Concealed License, and what cops can ask you about during a Traffic Stop when you are Carrying Concealed.

Do any of you keep up with the current state of how the Wild Horses of the Salt River are being considered. When I lived over there, until 1976, I did not notice many horses that were cosidered the "Wild Horses of the Salt River" and I think they are more accurately designated "The post Pandemic Wild Horses of the Salt River" because some of thiem sure look like they are genetically composed of some Purebred Quarter Horse Blood, they are well put together for that Breed. Now there are quite a few of them. Of Course, they could just be from the Salt River Indian Reservation running Free. Is there talk of removing them.

Coats  Fed Exing me to the Vig, doesn't sound so good, there are size limits, now maybe if it by way of Anazon, and I could have 2 or 3 of  them accompany me on the Trip that wouldn't be so bad.
