Another Book suggestion.  I asked my Wife to pick up a Gordon Chang book for me.  Gordon is a China expert.  She brought home, "Ghosts of Gold Mountain".  It's the story of the Chinese who built the Transcontinental Railroad.  Very interesting!

Frank.  I pretty much take anything I hear Gordon Chang say as well thought out and truth.  I'll be curious what bullet points you might derive from his book.

So far the biggest thing is that there was very little history from the Chinese that built the western portion of the tracks on the railroad.  They spoke some English but Chinese was their major language.  None of them could write English.  Some of the workers wrote down their experiences in Chinese but the area they lived in San Francisco burned in the S.F. Fire.  Their homes in S.F. were all wood.  Gordon Chang went to the area of China to find information from letters the workers sent home in addition to interviews with ancestors of the workers here in the U.S.  Hundreds of Chinese died in the construction process.  When they went through the Sierra Nevadas many froze to death.

Mike Wetzel.  Deeds, Not Words.  Trump is the first President with a pair in quite awhile in my book.  But I do wish he could dial it back sometimes when he opens his mouth.

New subject:  I may have mentioned that the kinds of studies I hated in high school have now become my favorite(s).  For example, history and civics I like pretty well now.  I'm still not fond of "English."  I'll be damned if I can diagram a sentence.  I don't even know what that means.  And to Conjugate a verb sounds like something you could go to jail for.

Have a good day all and say a prayer for Mr. Trump and his cabinet/advisors to bring us out the other side of this Iran situation in better shape than when we went in.  I've said it before and I'll say it again that you CANNOT "negotiate" with a rabid animal.  He's got his hands full.

Jim, Wetzel, et. al.  Trump does have a penchant for Sticking his Foot in his Mouth and embarassing us in the process, some of it I find humorous, as with the "Fake News Media" Found out an interesting Fact about him. When Johnny Carson's Sidekick, Ed McMahon was in his last illness, he was so in debt that his home was going  to be Foreclosed upon, and McMahon was going to be homeless, Some one quietly paid off his Debt, and took over paying the Mortgage thereafter. When McMahon passed, it turned out to be Donald J. Trump who paid for everything. Trump is a complex Man, but apparently God has picked him to be In Charge at this particular time, I think God should have picked me, but I don't have the Cars, the Hotels, the Jingle, and I cannot get up at 3 AM every morning to start the day off. There's probably other things that I am missing also. Hush Now, 

Looks like Hungary's Orban is about to lose the Hungarian Election, Putin and JD Vance are over there giving Orban advice and Hoorahs.They are also Angry that Zelenskyy is destroying all of the Russian Oil Pumping, Refining, and Distribution Sites to the point Russian has no Bucks for oil profits to heep fignting the favorite War of Putin. So. Putin nas now got Bellarusk jinned up for War, to attack Ukraine and do what Russia and Putin cannot Do. 

Trump sometines appears so Radical to me, that I fear he will order our Armed Forces to Attack Ukraine to save his Bud Putin's scrawny little Rabid Dog Ass. I don't like Feeling this Way Our own Military is now hiring the Ukraine Military to instruct Us in the fine Art of Drone Warfare because of what has gone on the Middle East between Iran and their Neighbors. 

At this time, I find Marco Rubio a very Sane Leader and he Stays on Course. JD Vance, So so.

Trump thinks he's still staring in a TV show not being President of the United States.  I agree he's done a lot of really good things but he just can't control his mouth.  I'm afraid the Republicans will lose control of the House and then we'll go through Impeachment 202.

Dr. Rainwater.  Always the criticism which is typical of the left.  What exactly would your "Iranian" plan be?  Should we roll over and show our belly like an abused dog?  I'm curious.  What would you do?

BTW.  Are you happy that Pres. Trump has secured the border?  Yes or No.  What about his attempt to require "voters" to prove they are citizens before voting?  Do you approve of that?  Yes or No.  I could go on.....Oh, yes.  Remember when Trump was running the Warp Speed program on Covid vaccines?  Chuck and Nancy were shrieking that he was wrong....but they never had an answer either.  Just that Trump was wrong.  TDS in full glory.

Jim, you’ve asked my opinion on a number of complex issues for which you basically allow yes/no answers!  I’ll try, though I don’t really know very much about any of the issues (as you will no doubt see below).  With regard to Iran, I think we should have stayed in the JCPOA.  As for the current situation, I think our President has gotten us into a hell of a mess strategically…we’re fighting an asymmetric war that we cannot possibly win and at the same time are helping raise a whole new generation of US-haters.  With regard to border security, I actually am not as concerned about that as others on this forum are.  From my point of view undocumented individuals are human like us and, for the most part, are decent hard-working mothers and fathers and sons and daughters (like us). I do not like to see ill-trained – sometimes violent – masked agents breaking up families and shipping folks off to bizarre locations, all in the name of my government.  I am offended by some of the methods used to track them down and, in some respects, I think we’ve broken the promise of a just solution to the problem.  Finally, with regard to election integrity, I don’t think anyone with knowledge seriously believes there is an actual problem (studies show miniscule levels of fraud and no evidence of determinative fraud).  The idea that undocumented people are voting in our elections in any appreciable number is laughable (what possible value is gained from taking an hour (or more) off work – possibly unpaid – in order to add one vote to Harris’ 75,017,613 tally, all the time risking a felony charge?).  When we were in school, I seem to remember the concern was that not enough people who could were actually voting.  So, what is the point in making it more difficult to vote?  In Oklahoma, an absentee ballot has to be notarized each time and there are something like four election dates this year alone…what is the point of that?  As to your last sentence about going on…please don’t.  I’ve given you some of my thoughts but I am not able to speak for the entire left wing and do not wish to.

Rainwater, what you have said is why I voted for Ronald J. Trump. I don't need for offhand "Well who cares, and what does is matter anyway" in the long  term attitudes giving  away my Country. Of course it is easier not to fight for Freedom, and to say who cares if we have a Government that is interested in presrving Freedom, as for me to say you care for, and espouse certain Qualities that make our Country Great, but do not particularly care if Freedom is Preserved, so long as the drive back home does't take over an hour, is tantamount to saying I don't care about much of anything, and that is truly disgusting. I'm far from perfect, but Life really means something to me. When Iran can tell us for 57 years that we are the Great Satan, and kill Thousands of us over the years, tells me they reallly do mean it, and I am a Fool to not pay attention to that.

The JCPOA was a joke!!  Iran never abided by it!  They always restricted the IAEA inspectors from inspecting the way they wanted.  That's how they got close to weapons grade uranium.  Iran claimed they were only enriching uranium for power generation.  They had taken it to way above the enrichment needed for power generation.  Obama and Biden both gave Iran Billions to play nice.  Obama and Biden both told us Iran was only using the money for humanitarian purposes which was a giant Obama, Biden, Iran, lie!!  They funded their terrorist proxies and funded their pursuit of a Nuclear Weapon.  Their proxy in Gaza (Hamas) on October 7th invaded Israel and committed atrocities comparable to Hitler.  If you think that's hyperbole, How about putting babies in ovens and cooking them.  Hamas did that with Irans blessing.  Iran has been saying, "Death to America" for over 50 years and they've meant it.
