Andrea passed away in August of 1993... Such a sad day... she was an amazing human being... I remember her holding my son who was born a few months prior to her death. She will always be remembered... Love Ya Girlfriend.
We were close friends early in H.S. Spent many of days in her back yard in the pool....I do miss and remember great times together....was shocked when Patrick sent me a letter of her timing....LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU CHICK
Did some time by Andrea's pool too (junior year) with Johnny and Justine. I had heard a rumor that she had been taken in a car accident but didn't really believe it. I have a picture of a group of us taken at a school dance; I'll try to find it and post it here. I guess the worst part is that she was so young... missed out on so much!
Andrea was in an auto accident with her boyfriend. It was horrible, but I rejoice that I had the privelge of knowing her and spending time with her. I have posted a picture on my web page of us. Johnie Burrow (Blum)
Don't let her bad gurl image fool you. I mean no disrespect....I love that gurl. It was a tragic accident. Somewhere you have to find/come to terms that the good people die and bad ones live. It wasn't her boyfriend. And with Andreas EMT training, she pissed me off. Her mother was a nurse, her father a dectitive, which was beneficial with the medical and criminal procedures. The guy driving couldn't be touched while in the hospital, nor afterward. A little girl was also killed in this accident, while a young boy survived.
I got "handcuffed" cuz of an incident in which I was not a party to, her dad came to get me. I got kicked out of my house, I stayed with Andrea. We got into an accident on our way to Damon Haflers funeral, 4 cops kids' in the car, his weight bailed us out.
My phone was not listed and her parents could not get a hold of me..they had a 411 operater try calling me until she got a hold of me. She had tears running down her face and cheek while I was touching her and talking to her. Because of this experience, I don't care what your medical training, I will NEVER be convinced that brain dead/comatous people do not know ones presence.
Kim, that is awesome that she got to hold your gift from God, that is amazing! She did not know my children, but they know her very fondly. I was given some jewelry by her parents, some of which I have passed to my girls. My eldest daughter is named after Andrea.
Andrea, Chris R & I had gone to Mexico just before she was killed, I spent all night fumbling with a photo album for her parents and gave them the negatives as well. Just a few nights before the accident, she was calling & calling me, and I never heard the answering machine..I still have that tape.
I have some pictures from our last Mexico trip I'd love to post. My Father never forgave me for not keeping in touch with her parents. They are both in Heaven, with CHET, and I assure you she is as captivating in Heaven as she was on earth. I Love U Gurl! ~With all of my heart, sentimental & crazy memories~ ~Beck and gurlz~
Andrea was such a fun person to be around. There was something about her that made you smile whenever she was around. I can remember being in a bad mood and out of nowhere Andrea would make a goofy remark that would just have me busting up outloud. I remember acting crazy at some of the school dances, at lunch, and cracking jokes in class. I was in Illinois in the hospital giving birth to my daughter when I got a call from Leesa Denny who relayed the sad news of Andrea's passing.
Andrea was called home at such a young age, but I know she is up there in heaven, smiling, with her beautiful wings spread wide, having a good time, cracking jokes, probably making some of the other Angels fall off of their clouds......
Andrea was one of my best friends.. many days by the pool... many vacations...matching outfits... many road trips to dance clubs in Tempe in the volvo..lol ... silly teenagers..lol.. the only regret i have is I left phoenix for a couple years and didnt return till about a month before she passed ...i missed out on so much... her funneral was very bitter sweet... nice to see old friends and her parents (whom i love dearly) yet such a sad time. Her mom knew i just found out i was pregnant and had such wonderful things to say . god i miss them all . ((hugs)) to my best friend.. im sure she is looking down at each of us.. shaking her head and laughin at all our mistakes and all our fun wishing she could be here.
