I completely understand what Kevin is saying and to a degree I agree! The thing is... there are a group of grads that for various reasons are not in a position to pay or just don't want to pay $100 per person, plus sitter, plus taxi, plus whatever else; so we decided to get together the same night in downtown Phx with the hopes that whoever is still up for partying will meet up with us. We are really not trying to ruin the reunion or upset people, it's just that we want to see everyone but don't want to pay a lot of money to do so.

With that being said... Anyone who doesn't want to pay let us know or if you are going to the reception but think you will still be up for more drinks email Annie or myself and we will give you details of where we will be.

I know I'm flying in with my spouse to see everyone - so I hope it's not a situation where people are having to choose one party over another. Is anyone on the commitee? Can we look at another place that is more reasonable? I say we do one event with everyone.

I feel bad for "breaking us up"--didn't mean to! I just wanted to do a dinner with Mary and a couple other girlfriends (plus significant others) but it started growing a little. I doubt the split will be half and half--Most people will be at the reunion so I say if you are on the fence you should just go to the reunion and make it worth it. You won't miss much at Macayo's with us...
****People going to the reunion, however, are strongly encouraged to meet up with us later that night at some bars downtown so that we DO get to see you all (TJ and Kev that includes you guys hopefully).

Who is planning the reunion? Is there any chance that it could be held at a place that's a bit more affordable? The last thing we wanted to do was create a problem.

The ballot box has been counted and a victory awarded. Plan “B” aka the “A&M” entry has won the hearts and pocketbooks of the group. Sorry to disappoint anyone, we appreciate your willingness to plan an event of this magnitude. Please check back for updates.

If someone could be so kind as to send me an email and let me know what's going on. I'm not sure if I can afford $200, however I would love to see everyone again.

Is there any way to change the venue or alter the plans to just include a set time of open bar and appetizers. It would be nice if whoever is planning this would get involved in the conversation.

I tried buying the tickets online but my computer isn't taking food stamps! Hope all of you are doing great.

Trent and I talked to Tiffany Nagel at Aunt Chilada’s the other night and she said it was $65.00 per person, all you can eat, buffet style with a 3 hour open bar… discounted drinks till close… www.auntchiladas.com for more details…

Sounds good to me - I heard that place is great

kevin is in, especially since the head organizer has remained silent throughout this discussion. Also I don't think any deposit has been dropped at the hotel. as long as no money will be lost i say go through with the more crowd appropriate option.

I think Aunt Chilada's sounds great!

St. Mary's Class Of 1998

Hey everyone! I created this website and did not even see till now that everyone had been posting to the forum! Anyways it came to our attention last night regarding Aunt Chilada's. If everyone thinks that the price of the tickets are too high, the committee is open to other options. I will send out some type of email today to get everyone's thoughts.

I think it would be fun for everyone to dress up and to have the reunion at the Sheraton so I would prefer having it there. However, it is more important to me that we create an event that everyone can attend as one class. I think that it would be stupid to have separate events though so if everyone thinks that the tickets are too expensive then I am open to looking at other options. I just wish I would have realized earlier that all of this was going on.....

I completely understand money is tight for just about everyone, including myself, but I am pretty sure we have been planning this for quite a few months now with no outside opinions or participation until September. Just to let all of you know, a deposit was placed. Last time I checked a reunion was a coming together of our class to catch up with everyone. I don't know of any venue that is going to be "cheap" that can hold a large group. Most of us have planned a wedding reception and understand price per plate, taxes, fees, dj, decorations, etc. I want to be able to catch up with everyone. Where ever we have it I think it should accomadate for our entire class not our high school clicks!

I agree with Jessica. We have already put a lot of time and effort into this and I would still like to make it happen at the Sheraton. I will contact the hotel and see if there is any way that we can reduce the price per person so that we can still make this happen.

From what I have read . . . maybe a good middle ground would be to stay at the Sheraton, appetizers instead of dinner, and open bar. Some get the nice loacation, others get the open bar. The clicks can have dinner together beforehand. I'm going changes or no changes. Looking forward to seeing you all at the game. Knights Rule!

Great survey idea and thanks to all for looking into perhaps cheaper tickets, etc. I think it that can be swinged--we should be good. Hopefully we will unite all--b/c that's what we do! :) Can't wait to see you hookers!!

Annie McCall (Poetzl)

I like Scott Simon's response. I don't care to dress up or get fancy. I want to hang out with my old pals in jeans! We can do small-group dinners where ever people want to go then meet up later. And people can still do Aunt Chilada's. If enough people are eating dinner there I will probably give in and do that too.

Hopefully Kandus & Rawls & Co. will do some magic with El SheraTON.
