Richard Milton Smith III, age 26, died April 7, 2008. Richard was a creative and artistic free spirit. He was a deep thinker, a kind and compassionate soul. We will miss him dearly and cherish his legacy forever. Richard was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his son, Rawley, his father and mother Richard Jr. and Joan Smith, his brother William (Audrey) Brough and sister Kristen (Donald, CJ) Krull, grandfather Rudy Verbeeck, several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He is a graduate of St. Mary's High School Class of 2000, Scottsdale Community College and Arizona State University. Services for Richard Smith will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery, 10940 East of Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, Arizona 85248, East of Alma School less than .5 miles on the North side. Richard had a great compassion for the homeless and believed that every soul has a story to tell that should be acknowledged. Donations in his honor can be made to the Phoenix Rescue Mission or other charity in support of the homeless.
