Debbie Dean and I lived on the same street from 1963-1974. I ran around with her almost daily. We walked to school everyday unless her Mom drove us. We grew up from dolls and stilts to boys and dances. I met my husband at her house (Mike Villegas brought him over). I lost track of her from 1980-2009 ... I was always looking for her. I was on my way to visit my husband Micky, who was in St Joseph's Hospital near death , i saw a yard sale sign pointing down Campus Drive and I had to go see if it was at my old house ... But it was at Debbie's old house. I saw her Mom and i jumped out shocked to see her and asked where Debbie was. She told me that Debbie had just recently died . She had been right there... In her parents old house and I had driven down that street hundreds of times ... And had no idea she was right there. Right there ! I had wanted to see her so badly over the years, and I just didn't think to look there! The saddness I felt that day was overwhelming . Loosing track of her and finding her gone has really left a dent in my heart.
Debbie was like my older sister growing up and I even served as an usher in her wedding. I almost grew up with the Dean's and they remained an extended family of mine for many years. So sad to see her name on this list and I will forwever remembr her smile.
