Whitey, Ray Yates and I were my first band. Two guitars and a drummer with a snare drum and a symbol. We played outside at the old Pete's Fish & Chips, when it was on the N. side of Indian School Rd. just west of 44th street, on Friday or Sat. evenings. It was our first paying gig! Pete let us plug into an elec. outlet on the front of the building and paid us with french fries and cokes. I think we only knew about a half dozen songs, so it was good that folks came and went often.
