all of my memories of Stephanie are from Meadows. I played a lot of baseball at the time, as did Craig. It seems that whenever all the guys were hanging around at the Chilton house or at the ball field, Stephanie was there. She was always mixing it up with all of us and she had something funny to say if someone missed a play or struck out. She'd yell at us as a coach would yell, but the critique sounded funny, coming from a 12/13 year old girl. great memories.
Thanks for the comment, Mark. To all of my classmates, Stepanie's Celebration of Life was yesterday, 7-29-18. It was a celebration for Stephanie and her husband of over 30 years, Lyle Waterman. Lyle passed away just a year and a half ago. Steph scheduled his celebration of life 7 months later but she was so distraught, she cancelled it. Then just a few months later, she was diagnosed with cancer. Two chemotherapy drugs didn't help and she passed away at home with hospice care on July 11th. Lyle was an executive at Safeway grocery store and Stephanie worked at SeaFirst National Bank before buying a cookie company, Bader's shortbread cookies. Stephanie built the company up into a muuti-million dollar company with over 300 employees before closing it down but keeping a large warehouse in Seattle. She bought a number of condominiums in the 1980's in Seattle, one in Phoenix used by family and friends and an office building in Idaho. Lyle retired as the President of the Oregon and Southern Washington Region. They lived in a big house on the Western side of Lake Washington. Stephanie always said she had a wonderful unbringing in Seattle and Phoenix. She was really excited about going to our 50th reunion but was too worried about Lyle's health at the time. She enjoyed hearing about the reunion and looking over a picture of the Madison Meadows 1962 graduating class that Mark gave me. I hope everyone in the 1966 class at Central is doing well. See you at the 60th reunion. Lord willing.
I am very saddened to hear that Stephanie has passed. I have very fond memories of her at Madison Meadows & Central High. I have thought of her, and you, Craig, every time I have passed by the house on Central & Bethany, and I pass that corner often. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
