Michael John Cruess returned to God on Thursday July 9th, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband whose wife Debbie passed away in 2008. He is survived by his four children Danielle, Brian, Connor, and Claire. He was one of seven children including one brother and five sisters. He was a man of many talents including teaching, nursing, and finally a prosecuting attorney for the city of Phoenix. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hiking, biking, and birding. His prodigious memory encompassed religion, philosophy, history, and sports. Michael had a great sense of humor and wit that we will always remember. His faith kept him strong throughout the course of his illness. We have no doubt that he is in the hands of God. "Wherever two or more of you gather in My name, I am present there also."

Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm, rosary at 7 pm Wednesday, July 15 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street. Mass will be at 11:00 am Thursday, July 16 at St. Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix. Interment will follow the service at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix.
