
Charles Bradley "Brad" Andrews III, 49 of Tempe, Arizona passed away September 28, 2000. Brad was born in Phoenix on December 17, 1950. He was a graduate of the St. Mary's High School Class of 1968. He attended Mesa Community College. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in July of 1969. His basic training was at Fort Sill, OK. HIs career in the Arizona Army National Guard as an Accountant in the Finance and Accounting Department of the Comptroller division at the USPF & O spanned 26 years. He retired as a Staff Sergeant. During his military career, he was honored with numerous awards. Upon his retirement, he became a civilian employed in the same capacity at the USPF & O.
Brad had a wonderful sense of humor and was very caring to his family and friends. He was like a walking encyclopedia, especially with his knowledge of History, Football, car & trucks. He loved football and could often be spotted with his late Uncle Frank Porter at the St. Mary's High School Knight's Football games.
He was a loving and devoted son to Brad Andrews Jr. of Tempe and the late Georgia Porter Andrews: also survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law Bridgie & Richard Lavelle of Santa Cruz, CA; loving brother and sister-in-law Brian & Deirdre Andrews; loving nephews James, William & John Lavelle of CA; Michael & Brendan Andrews of Chandler, loving nieces Kathleen & Claire Lavelle of CA; Brianna & Meaghan Andrews of Chandler and many aunts and uncles, cousins and many close friends.
Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mr. Carmel Church, 2121 S Rural Rd, Tempe on October 6, 2000 at 9am. Special thanks to the staff at ICU at Desert Samaritan in Mesa. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's High School Knight's Football program, 2525 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, AZ 85004; National Cancer Society for Research. Arrangements by Carr-Tenney Mortuary Tempe.
