Corporal, U.S. Army PFC Zeleski was killed in action in the Tay Ninh Province of Vietnam in September 1968. A native of Los Angeles, Philip Zeleski moved to Phoenix in 1954. He attended St. Mary's Catholic High School before joining the Army in 1967. PFC Zeleski was an airborne qualified medical corpsman with Headquarters and Headquarters Company on 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry in the 101st Airborne Division. Zeleski was posthumously promoted to Corporal and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
