George Hicks died on January 21, 2025 of a heart attack. George was born on April 1, 1950 in Buffalo, New York to George and Betty Hicks.  In 1957 his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended Ocotillo Grade School and graduated from Washington High Schoool.  After high school, George studied at Phoenix College and ASU.  

George married Alicia Farrell on November 27, 1976 and they moved to Alburquerque, New Mexico where they raised 2 daughters.  George was a former senior designer at HDR Engineering Inc and a former Railroad Engineering Coordinator at NMDOT.  

George was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Hicks Krohn (WHS Class of 1969) and his parents.  

He is survived by his loving wife Alicia, his daughters Jessica and Emily and his cousin Kathy Klein.
