David Lee Johnson, age 67 of Phoenix, AZ entered the church triumphant on July 3, 2017. David was born in Rockford, IL on June 17, 1950 and moved to Arizona at age 10. The son of Richard and Doris Johnson, David is survived by his beloved wife Elly Johnson of 33 years along with his mother, his sisters Debbie Kemper (John) and Deanna Wisner. David was an uncle to Derek (Linda) and Tiffany Zid, and Lindsey and Justin Wisner. David was a graduate of Arizona State University where he earned his degree in Journalism. He used his degree as the founder and publisher of Arizona business reports for over 20+ years. His interest in the Phoenix area real estate market led him to obtain his real estate license (25+ years) as an associate broker with ReMax/Excalibur where he excelled as a realtor and property manager. David was involved in his community through supporting Elly with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale Auxiliary and the Lady Bug Golf Classic. In 2000, David was the silent auction chair for the Fiesta Bowl where his efforts raised funds that supported the surrounding community. In 1990, David fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to Montana. While in Montana, he and Elly ran a bed and breakfast that was supported by the community of Lakeside. David had a passion for adventure. He loved to take off with Elly and his dogs to explore the great unknown. Very often, he and Elly found themselves in "unique" sightseeing locations in their beloved state of Arizona. Along with 4-wheeling, David loved to hike and mountain bike. He recently expanded his adventurous soul as a running member of the Arizona Traileggers. David was not only a lover of the great outdoors, but also a connoisseur of food. He loved to experiment with many different types of cooking styles including bar-b-queing and sous vide. He loved the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals, and Nascar. David's memorial service will be held at La Casa De Cristo where he was a longstanding member of this church family. The service will be on July 15, 2017 at 10 am.
