Linda S. Carhart, our bright and shining light, born March 7, 1951, passed over quietly at her home in Phoenix after a truly valiant fight with cancer. She touched many lives during her journey here and she will be missed by all who knew her. Linda was born in Southgate, CA and moved to Phoenix as a child. She graduated from Washington HS in 1969. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters in Family Counseling from Ottawa University. She made it her life work to help others facing difficult life challenges, particularly in the field of chemical dependency. Her wisdom expressed through simple loving words, her presence when others needed her and her capacity to love and accept others as they are, with all their human frailties was unlike any other. Linda, we miss you, we love you and we wish you well on this next journey. Linda is survived by her loving and adoring husband, Rodney Richards, her sisters Gloria Robertson and Traci Caccavale, her "Dad" Joe Caccavale, her precious niece Ciera Caccavale, her mother-in-law Esther Richards and a whole passel of extended family and friends who will miss her terribly. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 19th at 10 AM at Unity Church of Phoenix, 1500 E. Greenway Parkway in Phoenix.

I was not close to Linda but had many friends that did know her. She had a reputation for being a tough cookie and used to scare the crap out of me....I read her obit and was so impressed with her accomplishments to help others with a demon that once also existed in her life. What was written about her sounds as though her tough demeanor softened and she chose to heal others. The obit also reads that she was dearly loved. Cheers to you Linda.......
