The Galbreaths were a courageous and loving family. The 2004 obituary for her father Harrison Galbreath says, "In 1969, Harrison donated his right kidney to his daughter, Linda, now deceased, in Arizona's second kidney transplant." His gift, in the face of what must have been great uncertainty about the outcome, gave his daughter another 25 years of life.

Linda and I were best friends in elementary school and on into adulthood. I remember those days during the kidney transplant. Later, I would go to the beauty salon where she worked to have her cut my hair. We lost touch after a while. I still think of her when I drive down her street. Such a courageous young lady.
