Jerome Richard Malecka, age 61, of Arvada, CO, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013,
He was the son of the late Richard and Margaret Malecka. Survived by his son Joel (Amy) Malecka; daughter Lauryn (Cory) Sargent; sister Katherine (Peter) Saiers; brother Thomas Malecka.
Memorial service 11:00am Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Aspen Mortuary of Arvada 6370 Union Street.

Jerry lived very close to Wayne Bennett's house, and the 3 of us hung out a fair amount. Wayne can tell you the hilarious story behind Jerry's hero he invented for an English or Speech class "write your own mythology tale" assignment.
Jerry was a sincere person, who often laughed and tried to get others to laugh. I can almost hear the dry, humorous comment he's barely holding back behind that smile in his graduation photo.

Jerry and I lived one house apart as kids. He was definitely the mischievous one of the neighborhood. But together with Gary Tadano and my older sister we had a lot of fun growing up. RIP

I remember playing basketball with Jerry. I thought he was much better than me. I always admired him, thought he was someone I wished I could be more like. Always regretted not doing something for him after his accident.
