I remember Jimmy in 2nd grade at Orangewood. He always had the most stickers for reading than anyone else in the class. He always had a book in his hands. He grew to be  short and lean which was to his advantage when he became one of the best jockeys at Turf Paradise Race Track. My oldest brother was a bull rider and then became a horse trainer. He would have liked to have been a jockey but he was just a tad too tall. My brother and Jimmy became friends, he always talked about Jimmy and how he was well liked around the track. It was a sad day when he told me he passed away.

My mom worked at Turf Paradise for many years before she retired. On days I would go to the track with her I would always bet on the horse Jimmy was riding & he rarely let me down. He seemed to aways have a good race. I got a chance to spend time with him when I was at the track. What a great guy.
