
Patrick Gerald Shahan, 21, died October 23, 1972 in the county hospital of burns received July 30th when his Volkswagen rolled over and burned 18 miles north of Cordes Junction on Interstate 17.
Mr Shahan was born January 16, 1950 and lived at 5802 N 22nd Drive, Phoenix.
**The Department of Public Safety said Shahan was northbound on Interstate 17 on a wet road when his vehicle went into a broadside skid and rolled one and three-fourths times. He remained trapped in the burning vehicle until he was pulled free by a passing motorist, the DPS said.
