I really loved this boy and my heart is just broken that he's gone and the way he passed.. We started being together alot at the end of our senior year. I was never embarrased when he would come over and my house would be in chaos from my 3 younger brothers, because he had younger siblings too. I was at his house one afternoon when he was babysitting them, and he was so sweet and good with them; he was making candy suckers for them and I was just amazed that he knew how to do that. I think I started loving him that day. I've often wondered if we would have been together if I hadn't left to go to school in Missouri. He didn't smoke and as I remember he abstained from drugs when it seemed everyone else was using. He wanted to be a dentist when he grew up. The last time I saw him he was getting ready to hitch to Woodstock the next day. I could never find him after that. I've been looking for him for years. Rest in peace love, I hope to see you again.
I knew Bobby in grade school and high school. He always dressed very classy in high school. One experience we had together probably was our freshman year, possibly 8th grade. Jimmy Wagner, another alum, his family owned an old convertible. One day Janet Briswalter, Jan McKiernan, Jimmy Wagner, Bobby, and I thought we would take it out for a spin. That's correct NO one had a drivers license. They lived in the neighborhood around 15 Ave. and Myrtle. We all hopped into the car and started driving around the neighborhood. Next thing we knew we were going down 15th Ave. to Glendale, on to Glendale to 19th Ave. We pulled into a gas station for some reason. The problem was this car ONLY went forward NO reverse. We all had to get out and start pushing the car backwards and now we were all getting a bit nervous that we were gonna get caught. Finally got the car turned around and headed home as fast as we could laughing our heads off. Crazy!! OMG can't believe we did that. Way back in the mid 60's there wasn't much traffic on Glendale Ave. Bobby was always very sweet to me. I met his cousin a few years back and she said he had passed away from a drug overdose. So sad.

What a funny outing for all of you! Thanks for sharing, Betsy. It's amazing any of us survived our teenage years!
