Stephen Patrick O'Meara

On Saturday, March 27, 2021, Stephen Patrick David Anthony O'Meara, loving husband and father of four, shook off his mortal coil at the age of 68 in Peoria, Arizona. . He was born on December 28, 1952, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Thomas and Catherine (Conley) O'Meara.

Stephen was a devout Catholic who sang in the church choir, directed the Parish Council, taught baptism classes, and emceed the annual parish festival at St. Louis the King Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Stephen worked as a letter carrier and driving instructor for over 30 years at the United States Postal Service. He was very fond of the people who lived on his route and took great pride in serving his customers.

On November 12, 1982, he married his beloved wife, Kathleen; together, they shared 38 (7 beautiful) years of wedded bliss. They raised four fucking awesome children. Stephen was a trivia master and avid reader. His collection of American Civil War books and memorabilia would rival the Library of Congress. He was patient, kind, and had an amazing ability to make people feel welcome. Whether it was the first time he met you or the hundredth, Stephen would make you feel like you were the most important person in the world. He was not a perfect man, but he was the best mankind had to offer.

Stephen is preceded in death by his father (Thomas), mother (Catherine), brother (James), and sister (Susan). He is survived by his wife Kathleen, brother Anthony (Dawn), and four children: Daniel (Loops), Matthew (Shondra), Shannon (Patrick), and Zackary. He also had five grandchildren: James, Cade, Harrison, Evelyn, and Dylan, who were the light of his life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date where we will all get pissed.
