Patricia J. Gaskin Tax, 58 of Phoenix, departed this world on October 12, 2006. Patty was born in Phoenix on July 25, 1948 to Robert and Margaret Gaskin. Always strong in her faith and devoted to others through her many years of volunteer service with Catholic Social Services, St. Mary's Food Bank, First Way of AZ and the Maricopa Audubon Society. Patty had recently retired from a 32-year career with the City of Phoenix. She touched many lives in her professional and private life. This became so very apparent in the tremendous love and support from friends and family during her brief illness. Her love for her family was always foremost and demonstrated by the way she cared for us. Patty is survived by her husband Stan; son Chris (Christine); granddaughter Kate; mother Margaret Gaskin; sisters Lynda Howell, Debbie Gaskin (Mike) and brother Robert Gaskin, Jr. (Jennifer); in-laws Kim Tax and Tim Tax (Sherri), Carl Tax and several nephews and nieces. Patty was preceded in death by her father Robert Gaskin, Sr. The family will welcome friends and relatives at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, from 5 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2006. Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:30 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables Dr. A graveside service will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 23015 N. Cave Creek Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Arizona Humane Society.
