Charles William (Chuck) Walters, loving husband, father, son and dear friend, of Pine was called to his eternal rest on July 27, 2006 in a tragic accident in Payson. He was born on December 20, 1947 in Leavenworth, Kansas. After serving in both the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard, he moved to Phoenix and eventually to Pine, AZ with his wife Janis, where they operated several small businesses before he went to work for the Tonto Apache Tribe in Payson. Chuck is survived by his wife Janis, daughter Stephanie and her husband Richard Moore, grandchildren Alexander and Danielle, parents Don and Nancy Spann, and brother Tracy Spann. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Pine Community Center, Pine, AZ. A Celebration of Life will follow at Mogollon's.
