Joan V. Waits

May 27th 1943- December 12th 2024

Oakland, CA

It is with deep sadness that we relay the passing of Joan V. Waits, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on December 12th 2024. Joan was 81 years old. She was a third generation Californian born in Oakland, CA and lived most of her life in Montclair (Oakland), CA, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and exuberance.

mom was known for her warmth, her infectious laugh, smile that lit up her face and her unwavering support for her family and friends. A proud mother to William Windsor Waits "Bill", Robert Roland Waits "Bob" and cherished grandmother, she was the heart of her family and a source of endless love, joy and compassion. Mom had a passion for art, swimming snorkeling traveling, celebrating, and she shared this love with those around her, creating lasting memories for all who knew her.

Joan

is survived by her children Bill and Bob, grandchildren Liam, Cody, Jackson, and other close family members. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard R Waits.

Joan's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on February 15th at 2:00 PM
