bradJane and Les were planning to visit me in Laguna Beach last Fall on their way to a family reunion in Carlsbad, but their plans got changed, so I missed seeing them both. It was Loretta, my sister who notified me a couple of weeks ago that Lea notified her of Jane's passing on April 16th. I had spoken with Les yesterday and he mentioned that Jane had this persistent cough but refused to see her PCP until her breathing  became labored. The X ray taken  showed a lung mass which was needle biopsied and it confirmed the diagnosis of lung cancer, even though she had never smoked in the past. She was sent home and quickly deteriorated in &! out of consciousness and unable to speak and according to Let, she died quickly in the presence of their son and Les.

We shared fond memories of Jane, whose father was a surgeon collegue of my dad, also a surgeon, both who kracticied  on Pill Hill. They enjoyed a fulfilling marriage of 40!years and he stated that Jane was  called as an expert witness on many court cases involving high value estate items and antiques, fir which she was in great demand.

I remember Jane as an outgoing and kind gal full of warmth, curiosity  and grace, and my sister and I will miss her presence  immensely!

I am saddened to learn of Jane's transition.  She and I went to Montclair Elementariy and then went to PHS Junior and High Schools.  I remember her as my very first "girlfriend" with whom I learned come verses of "Davy Crockett.."  She was a fine person, with whom I was privileged to travel along a bit of life's journey.  Travel on, and travel well, Jane!
