Jim DeProspero

1944 - 2020

Jim DeProspero, affectionately nicknamed Gino in high school, passed away suddenly at his home in Sunriver Oregon on Nov. 13, 2020. Jim came to PHS as a freshman. His early years were spent in New Hampshire along with his sister Joan and brother Joe. Jim attended Diablo Valley College going on to Hayward State College where he obtained his degree. He married Jane Wogoman, a Skyline High student, in 1966. They lived in Concord until 1977 when they moved to Oregon. Jim had a successful career in real estate in the Lake Oswego area.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved Oregon for its easy access to those activities. I fished and hunted with Jim beginning in high school and continued almost every year either in Oregon or California. With him, it was not "fishing" but "catching" -- whether it was crabbing off the Oregon coast or catching sturgeon on the Columbia River. For the last 20 years, Jim and Jane would join Nancy and I at our ranch in San Benito County for dove season which always opens on Sept. 1. Jim's birthday was Sept. 2 and mine on Sept. 4, which we celebrated together. He is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Judi and son-in-law John, and two grandchildren Kiley and Tyler. His sister Joan and brother Joe. Happy Trails Buddy.
