Larry was born on May 30, 1942 in Java, SD and died on December 26, 2009 in Elk Point, SD.  He and Norma Flannery were married in 1963.  He worked as a ranch hand in Ft. Pierre, a farm hand in Onida and at Onida Electric as a plumber/electrician before retiring in 1997.  He also played bass guitar in a dance band for many years.  He loved to work with wood and spent countless hours building cupboards for their home in Onida, a project he finished one month before suffering a debilitating brain aneurysm in February 1997.  In 2000 he and Norma moved to Elk Point to be closer to their children, Michael, David and Janet and their 9 grandchildren.
