Harvey Arthur Tarr

Harvey Arthur Tarr

The body of Harvey Arthur Tarr was found the morning of February 13, 2009 in the front yard of his home, which was also his business.  Tarr sold firewood and was known to have a lot of cash on Fridays, which was pay day.  Harvey was robbed, and died of blunt trauma after he was hit on the forehead with a shovel and then stabbed with a knife.  An arrest was made and a grand jury indicted his killer.

Harvey was born Jan 8, 1942.  He married Jenneth Kayser on 12 August 1962 in Pierre, SD.  He married Verlon Hemby on 18 February 2001 in Tyler TX.  Prior to seeling in Tyler, he was a resident in Garden City, KS, Clay Center, KS, Colorado Springs, CO and Hillister, TX.

My sincere empathy to Harvey's family and friends. It is heart-wrenching to have a family member/friend senselessly killed.

Harvey's quiet strength and courage were admirable.  He is surely continuing his good deeds on both sides.
