Sharon Caldwell, 81, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, holding her husbands hand ay her home outside of Ft. Pierre.
Sharon was born May 8, 1942, to Ray and Elanor (Wendling) Kilian, and was raised in Hoven and Pierre area. After graduation from Riggs High School in Pierre, South Dakota, she married the true love of her life. Together they lived twenty six miles out of Fort Pierre, where for almost 62 years she was a loving rancher's wife.
Sharon met the love of her life, Clinton Caldwell, at Coast to Coast. They married in February of 1963 and had three children; Connie Dammann, Thad Caldwell and Tammie Peterson. She enjoyed working on the ranch, attending every sporting event and concert of her children and after that her grandchildren. She had many fond memories of watching her husband play baseball and kept score at many of his games. She also had many fond memores of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren coming out and visiting her. She was always up for hugs and kisses and could often find her rocking the great grandchildren to sleep.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Clinton; her children, Connie (Kirk) Dammann, Thad (Tracey) Caldwell and Tammie (Joel) Peterson; grandchildren, Travis (JoElle) Dammann, Kaelyn (Cade) Dawn, Jace Caldwell, Jordan (Megan) Peterson and Dylan (Macy) Peterson; Great-grandchildren Samson Dammann, Kieran Dammann, Charlie Dawn, Barrett Dawn and Coulter Peterson; her three sisters Marlynrae Mathews, Ida (Ross) Henrichsen and Eileen Duff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Leslie Caldwell, a sister Betty Walinaki, as well as many brothers-in-law, aunts and uncles.
