Gregory L. Pollard, 44, of Powell, Tenn., formerly of Pollard, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.

He was born Feb. 10, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, the son of James R. and Mary (Ballard) Pollard.

He joined the Air Force after graduating from Piggott High School and earned an associate's degree from the Community College of the Air Force. He later graduated, with distinction, from Pace University of New York, while working full-time in areas of secure communication for our country.

He was honored to serve his country and President while in the Air Force on the White House communications staff. He continued to protect our national security through his work as a communications engineer.

He was a loving and devoted son, husband and father. He was faithful in service to his church and lived out the love of Christ in every area of his life. He was known by his family, friends and co-workers as a man of honor and integrity.
