In Memory

Phillip Scheffler

What is time?  Time cannot be stopped, confined, or seen; but, it still exists.  One cannot physically travel into a time that has passed, only visit that period in the realm of one's memory.  Sometimes our memories fail.  Things we desire to recall are too vague and unclear to grasp, and to dwell upon.  Some people claim that clinging to the past is not beneficial, and can slow one's progress towards the future.  But we choose to look at the past in a different light, a light that says the memories of the past are essential and vital to a human being.  A light that proclaims the independency of a person to find meaning in something that has happened.  A light that says, "There is a time to remember."

We the class of 1982 would like to say that even as we have graduated, we still take the time to remember those who are gone, but should have been with us.

We remember.
