Mine are several: Pine Mountain Ski Resort, Virginia Lake (OS Berlin), the transit line into Philly, the woods behind my house, Clementon Park and the fireworks.

My fond memories of Clementon is the town with all the stores and now ...I remember seeing Dr. Zhiavago (sp?) at the movies and think that was the last movie I saw there.  I loved the Jack Rabbit Roller Coaster at the park.  When they had pepsi days with a ticket you could ride it for .25 cents...I collected so many tickets just to ride...so cool.

Well I lived in Lindenwold near the border with Laural Springs. My friends and brothers and I used to play all day on adventures that began in the stream that ran from behind our neighborhood and joined the stream that ran behind the Overbrook school and traveled to Laural lake.

We'd pack lunches and go on our adventures, our imaginations running wild. We'd be in the world of the Tarzan movies or Jules Verne stories as we floated down streams in rafts and waded in shallow water through the tunnels.

What a great time to be a kid then in the mid to late sixties, to be gone all day and just show up at home for supper.

For us the time then was our age of innocence.

I used to cut classes and hang out at Willis Sporting Goods across from the school.

I liked the outdoor life style, fishing, camping, and tried hunting for awhile.

I also had a girlfriend then, she was a year ahead of me in school and my first love, we used to go for long walks, holding hands. We'd walk to the Grant's Store. Too bad that area is so blighted with eyesores.

When I win the Mega Millions I'll tear it all down and build an awesome public park there.

I used to like to go to the Clemonton Libray. It was the only one around at the time.

Can you remember at all a time being young and in love, when just holding hands with some one of the opposite sex was such an innocent turn-on and your heart would skip a beat at the sight of that person or hearing their voice?

Target practice on electric line glass insulators along the rail road tracts starting behind Grubers all the way to the Indian Steps. Playing hooky from school hiding out at  Clementon lake over the bank just past the back entrance to the Park when the lake was drained in the winter and basking in the winter sun light while protected from the cold wind by the bank all the while smelling the Clementon Bakery. Walking down White Horse Avenue barefooted, veering off to the left into the woods just before the Park front entrance, on a trek toward  the point of the island in the back of Bottoms lake to catch Calico Bass, ultimately casting clear accross to Springers house.i.e. fish story. Heading down to Atlantic City January first to jump in the ocean long before Polar Bear groups were ever thought of. Not being able to walk through the deep snow in 1960. Working at the London Inn 1970. Electrocuted hot dogs on the White Horse pike, same side as the Clementon Air Port. Horrible plane crash into Silver Lake. Drinking age changed to 18 in 1973 and back to 21 in 1976 just for the class of 73.

I remember my Dad taking me to see King Kong at the Clementon movie.  Scared me!  Must have been in the 4th grade, (I remember Miss Cotner, my first love) and selecting the book shelves as a place to hide if that ape got loose again.
