Fireworks

On summer evenings, on Friday nights, I think, Clementon Lake park would put on a display of fireworks. Most of the time, I would sit at a window on the third floor of my old house in Watsontown, and was able to just see the fireworks burst over the tree tops. I could hear the booms in the distance. Of course, at the end, they would send up a whole lot of firesworks to end the show. It was very exciting. As a little boy, I remember it was often time to go to bed right after those fireworks ended.

Since my old house was across the street from W.T. Grants, sometimes I could watch somebody's drum and bugle corp practice on the Grants parking lot. How exciting...fireworks and drum and bugle corp, all for free. I seem to recall seeing Betty Simpkins in that corp. There were others, but I don't recall the names now.
