On October 19, 2016 after a courageous year long battle with cancer. Age 62 years. Beloved husband of Kathleen Betz-Berthel. Devoted father of Gary R. Berthel, Jr. (Chrissy), Danielle Byrne (Matt Martyn), Paul Grass (Britta), Colleen Pfeffer (Jeff), and the late Christopher Berthel. Dear brother of Glenn Berthel (Denise) and Gail Connelly (Steve). Proud Pop Pop of Zach, Riley, Adelaide, Camden, Dylan, Mason, Jayden, Fiona and Charlie. Also survived by his dogs Happy and Spliff.
