He is survived by his wife, Edythe A. (Smith) Dowdell, his children, David Dowdell, Edye and Al Sivers, Donald Hutter, six grandchildren, Justin Huff, Ashley (Joe) Winkelbauer, Jessica Sivers, Donald Hutter II, Rosie Hutter, Jacob Hutter, brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Elaine Dowdell, niece, Lori, and nephew, Ryan.

John was a Vietnam Air Force veteran, and had attended Arizona State University. He enjoyed fishing, the beach and “surf” fishing. He loved his grandchildren and his four legged family members.
