Rest In Peace, Louise
Louise H. Talhouk, passed away at Stanford Hospital on March 21, 2025 at 78 years of age after battling complications with cancer for the past 7 years. She died peacefully with her husband Jamil by her side along with her son Talal, daughter Saniya and their significant others.
Louise was born New Years day in 1947 to her parents Philip and Beatrice Hallworth in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Lindenwold, New Jersey with her sister Janet. All throughout childhood she greatly enjoyed her summer camp experiences at Camp Matalionaque in Medford Lakes, New Jersey as a camper and eventually a councilor and would frequently tell stories of her experiences. Louise was very close to her father Philip who unfortunately died while she was still young which was a great source of sadness in her early life.
After graduating from Overbrook High School in 1965, she eventually moved away to attend Lindenwood College in Saint Charles, Missouri which at the time was an all woman college. She worked as a waitress at the college and would earn her degree in philosophy, theology and religion in 1969.
Louise would then move to Birmingham, Alabama where she met her husband Jamil Talhouk. They would be married there and would eventually welcome their son Talal in Columbus, Ohio and then their daughter Saniya after moving back to Birmingham. The whole family would then move to California closer to where her sister Janet was located and was an active member in her children's PTA, Girl Scouts leader and social activities. She also began her professional career working in hospital administration, health insurance administration and finally at Stanford University School of Medicine working in advocacy for the Pediatrics department. She enjoyed being around her coworkers and friends, sharing stories and long phone conversations, greeting cards, cooking and meeting up with her group of mermaids at the weekly water aerobics class. Later in life she got very interested in tracing her lineage and reconnecting with her uncle Robert and cousins Bob and Linda Hallworth.
Louise is survived by her husband of 50 years Jamil and children Talal and Saniya. A memorial service will be held at a time and place to be determined, but if you would like to attend please email your contact information to louisetalhoukmemorial@gmail.com and the family will provide information as to the time and place once arrangements are made.
