Philip was born on March 2, 1950 and passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Philip was a resident of Bridgeton, New Jersey at the time of passing. Phil was an outstanding athlete at Overbrook Regional High School graduating Class of 1968. A career he never realized because he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation with the family Friday evening 6:30-8:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 8:00 pm at the: ORA L. WOOSTER FUNERAL HOME, 51 Park Blvd., Clementon, NJ 08021. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 75517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 and/or Funny Farm Rescue.org.
Chuck Lezotte (1969)
I just found out on June 23rd about Phil and was very sad to hear it. Phil was my childhood best friend. We did a lot of things together and were always competing against each other. We use to walk from what was called Garden Lake at the time (now Lindenwold) down the railroad tracks into Clementon and play basketball almost every night behind the old police station. We played until 10:00 PM when the lights were turned-off and even played afterwards in the dark sometimes. On Saturday nights, we use to watched Big Five basketball together at his grandfathers house in Laurel Springs. We were both recipients of the “Clemention Lake Park Athletic Award - To The Best All-Around Boy Athlete” (Back-Back years in 1968 & 1969). We played football, golf and little league baseball together when his father coached the team. One of my fondest memories was our hand stand walks against each other to see who could go the farthest. We got pretty good at it too. As I remember, we were both walking near a hundred steps on our hands before falling from fatigue. We also had pole vaulting events in my backyard, back in the 1960s. Boy, those were the carefree days! I traveled to Joliet, Illinois to be the best man at his wedding. It was a fun time on the 14-hour car ride with the Procida family. In August of 1974, he was the best man at my wedding. Sorry to say, after that, I moved to Philadelphia and we slowly drifted apart to lead separate busy lives. I deeply regret this and wish his family well. It was great growing up with him! Chuck Lezotte in Tabernacle, NJ. Class of “69”.
Mike LeGrand (1970)
I'm so sorry to hear. I just logged on to this Overbrook site after a long absence. Phil was such a nice guy. I was in track and cross country with Phil. So sad and after his brother Michael passed. God bless them and the Procida family.
Joseph Keenan (1968)
I was a latecomer to Lindenwold but Phil & Chuck welcomed me to the neighborhood. I really enjoyed seeing Phil at our 50th reunion last fall, and Ken Kling & I & Phil all sat together. I read Chuck's comments and remember getting my head handed to me by both of them on the basketball court behind the Garden Lake Fire House time after time! We played baseball too and I'll never forget the day Chuck absolutely blew the older kids team away with his curveball. Great memories, great fellas.
